Tennis: Leandro Riedi in the final in Canberra

Fourteen in a row! Julien Lepers might not have said it better in the famous program “Questions for a champion”. Fourteen in a row, this is what the Thurgovian, established in Zurich, Leandro Riedi (20 years old / ATP157) achieved. He indeed signed his fourteenth victory in a row.

Winner of the German Jan-Lennard Struff (32 years old / ATP 150) in the semi-finals of the Canberra Challenger tournament, Riedi brilliantly qualified for the final. The score: 7-6 (8-6) 5-7 6-2. He will face Hungarian Marton Fucsovics on Saturday, seeded No. 1 in the tournament and ranked 87th in the ATP.

Winner of the tournaments in Helsinki (Finland) and Andria (Italy) in November, Riedi therefore left for the pass of three. Bodes well ahead of Australian Open qualifying. This will be a first for him at the level of Grand Slam tournaments.

Leandro Riedi currently leads the ranking at Race!
