Terrebonne Referendum Results: By-law 1009-010 Approved by Voters of former Golf des Moulins

The Town Clerk of Terrebonne, Me Jean-François Milot, who also acts as election president, announces the results of the referendum vote held today relating to by-law number 1009-010 (former Golf des Moulins).

The referendum question was: Do you approve By-law number 1009-010 amending By-law number 1009 relating to the Urbanova Sustainable Urban Planning Manual, in order to include the regulatory provisions applicable to Transects Development Plan number 10 for the land of the former Golf des Moulins?

The highlights of the vote are as follows:

Number of eligible voters: 944 Total number of valid votes cast: 459 Number of votes rejected: 5 Participation rate: 49.15% Number of votes in favor of “yes”: 270 Number of votes in favor of “no” : 189 Percentage of the number of votes in favor of “yes”: 58.9% Percentage of the number of votes in favor of “no”: 41.1%

Since a majority of “yes” votes were counted during the counting and census of votes, by-law number 1009-010 is deemed approved by qualified voters in the sector concerned. The process of bringing the regulation into force will continue.

The clerk will officially table the final results of the vote at the municipal council meeting on September 18 and will notify the chief electoral officer.
