Three teenagers had their mother taken from them forever in San Juan Nepomuceno, Bolívar. That loving mother was Daniela Margarita Rodelo Mercado, 38, who was assassinated by hitmen with two bullets in the La Victoria neighborhood of the Ciénaga municipality, Magdalena.

The Bolivarian woman was, according to the authorities, with a group of friends in the La Estación sector, when the subjects arrived on a motorcycle and shot her in the head. The woman was helped and taken to a medical center, but she arrived without vital signs.
Police confirmed that another female was injured in the incident and is under a reserved prognosis. The assassination occurred on the afternoon of January 1st, but until now the identity of the victim was known because at the time of the shooting attack Daniela did not have documentation and fingerprint identification was required.
The woman remained as NN in the morgue of the San Cristóbal Hospital in the municipality of Ciénaga, but her relatives have already claimed her body to give her a Christian burial in her homeland.
The Prosecutor’s Office investigates the motives for the event to clarify and find the whereabouts of the hit men. It is unknown if he had threats or personal troubles. Through social networks there are many messages of pain and condolences, especially from their children who claim to have a broken soul.
“Mommy, why did they do this to you? With you my life left me, I will never forget you, I will always love you. You did not meet your grandson, beautiful mother,” wrote one of the victim’s sons.
