A deep hole that suddenly appeared this week in a rural area on the outskirts of the city of El Jadida in Morocco sparked terror in the hearts of residents.
The owner of the plot of land where the hole appeared in the Hadd Oulad Faraj area said in a statement to the local newspaper Hespress that he was surprised by the incident on the morning of Thursday, September 28.
He explained that the depth of the hole is 60 meters and its width exceeds 20 meters, adding that it poses a danger to the people of the area.
He continued that the local and security authorities were notified of what happened, as some officials came to the spot and decided to surround it with rope, until the necessary investigations were conducted.
One of the neighbors asked whether the sudden appearance of the crater was related to the strong earthquake that shook Morocco a few days ago and caused massive human and material losses, highlighting that the region had never witnessed a similar crater.
