A Teslabillionaire electric car maker Elon Musk, will be investigated once more following another accident with one of its vehicles results in the death of the driver. The case in question took place on July 19 in the state of Virginia, in the United States.
The authorities responsible for investigating the accident want to understand whether Tesla’s autopilot system played any role in the occurrence. The accident car was a Model Y, one of the most sold by the automaker.
According to the US National Highway Safety Administration, the Tesla would have hit the side of a truck that entered the highway. The driver of the electric car, who was 57 years old, succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene of the collision.
Despite the first signs pointing to the truck driver’s recklessness, Tesla will also need to explain to investigators whether possible errors involving the company’s autopilot technology would have influenced the accident.
