Tesla electric cars outperform Volkswagen in Germany

The American company “Tesla” topped the electric car market in Germany during the first half of the year, and the German “Volkswagen” is seeking to catch up.
Data from the German Federal Automotive Authority showed that during the period from January to June 2023, regarding 36,400 new Tesla cars were licensed, constituting 16.5% of the total 220,200 purely electric cars that were licensed during that period.
Volkswagen electric cars once more occupied the second position with 34,400 cars, equivalent to a share of 15.6%.
Mercedes came in third with 16,900 cars, followed by Audi with 14,400 cars, then BMW with 12,800 electric cars in the first half of this year.
