Tesla Launches Free Train Service to Giga Berlin: Visit the Tesla Factory with the Tesla Train

Tesla has launched its own train service, which will transport employees and visitors free of charge between the Gigafactory in Berlin and the city of Erkner. If you’re visiting Berlin, you can now take the Tesla train for free, get off at the Tesla train station and visit the Tesla factory, which is located on Tesla Street. Indeed, in a post published on X (formerly Twitter), Tesla Europe announced the opening of its own railway line, noting that “the train can carry 400 people”. The announcement was accompanied by a short video showing the first train arriving early in the morning at the station on the factory premises, where the platform was equipped with a roof covered with solar panels. In the past, instead of the train, a bus service operated in order to reduce road traffic congestion. Giga Berlin now has its own train shuttle, capable of moving 400 people per ride ???? pic.twitter.com/gmvy80GFFn — Tesla Europe (@teslaeurope) September 4, 2023 The company invited some of its customers to ride the short route and with fireworks, it awaited its passengers with a DJ and a light show. Watching the video, it’s clear that we’re not talking about an electric train, which is rather ironic given that Tesla builds purely electric vehicles. However, it is important to note that the train is not owned by Tesla, and only the tracks were purchased from the German Regional Railway Group (DRE). In 2022, Tesla said the rail vehicle will run about 60 times a day, every 40 minutes, Monday through Friday. So if you want to visit Giga Berlin by train, you first have to hop on a train at Berlin Main Station and then get off at Erkner, from where you can get to the more than 1.2 square kilometer factory for free. However, keep in mind that only the last part of the journey will be free, you will need a ticket until the journey to the train.
