Tesla recalls two million cars due to Autopilot

Tesla is preparing to recall almost all of its cars sold in the United States; Due to safety flaws in its automated driver technology, known as Autopilot.

Vehicles includes more than 2 million vehicles, all Model S, Model The company will correct the problem by updating the software wirelessly.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) has also investigated the company’s Autopilot technology since 2021, concluding that the system does not do enough to prevent drivers from abusing the feature.

Autosteer controls “may not be sufficient to prevent driver abuse” in certain circumstances, the NHSTA said in its safety recall report.
