Following the expiration of the period for which benami institutions were allowed to rectify their status, extensive scrutiny is taking place across the country. The Commerce Ministry said in an inspection yesterday that it had found several benami firms operating in the spare parts sales sector. The violators were handed over to the concerned departments for further action. The Ministry of Commerce conducts inspections in establishments in collaboration with 20 departments. With the help of modern technology such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis, companies suspected of being benami can be detected in advance. The Commerce Ministry said the inspection would be carried out following that.
