The state of Texas (USA) joined this Friday another 18 territories of the country that have prohibited or restricted the treatments of gender change for minors, after its governor, the Republican Greg Abbottwill ratify a law that makes the practice illegal.
Specifically, Texas law prohibits physicians from prescribing hormone treatments o puberty blockersor perform gender transition surgeries on children under 18 years of age, as reported by the media The Hill.

The measure is expected to enter into force on September 1, although it includes exceptions for those people who are already receiving this type of treatments.
