Transportadora Gas del Sur (TGS) won with a better offer in the private tender that opened Enarsa to define the operation and maintenance of a key work for the energy sector such as the Néstor Kirchner gas pipeline. The company will be in charge of the first section of the pipeline for a period of 10 years.
Given the tight deadline for the Néstor Kirchner gas pipeline to start operating, whose inauguration is expected this Tuesday June 20from Enarsa it was decided not to carry out a public tender to define the firm in charge of the operation of the network and its maintenance.
What was done was a private contest in which Only two companies were invited to participate: TGS and Transportadora Gas del Norte (TGN), the two firms that they have experience in the management of trunk gas pipelines in the country and that they not only had an interest in operating the new line but that in their shareholding compositions they are also present in the construction of the gas pipeline.
TGS is a controlled company for the group Pampa Energy, the key shareholder of Sacde, the construction company that, together with Techint, is carrying out two of the three sections of the work. And precisely, the Grupo Techint is a key shareholder in TGN.
