Thanks to Doom, I finally like Ray Tracing

You think the Raytracing does nothing, that games were better before ( like me ) ? Well here is finally some good news: Doom “original” (the 1993 version) has just received its RTX ON version. But since you are grumpy, do you think that modifying such a cult game in this way is sacrilege? I think you will be pleasantly surprised by this mod and what it brings to this legendary game. Because it is obviously a mod that allows this miracle. The author is not unknown, it is Sublim_twhich has already added the ray tracing via path tracing sur Half-Life et Serious Sam: The First Encounter.

Doom RTX ON

The necessary source code and the playable version can be downloaded at GitHub , along with instructions on how to get everything up and running. Note that you will need a copy of the game’s original DOOM.wad file to play… A simple detail for most of us.

GitHub also hosts an optional high-quality music pack and files to support the technology of rendered Nvidia DLSS.

Well obviously with such modifications, this game no longer fits on two 3.5″ 1.44MB diskettes.
