Allowances that, after the increase of up to 6.5% that the lowest will receive from April 1st, are also expected to receive an upward trend. This percentage of the increase seems, in fact, to involve at least 10 allowances of sensitive groups.
- The regular unemployment allowance: the amount of the unemployment allowance is set at 55% of the unskilled worker’s daily wage, regardless of whether the unemployed person was paid a monthly wage or a daily wage (increased by 10% for each protected member).
- Special assistance for those who have served a custodial sentence: equal to 15 daily unemployment benefits.
- The special seasonal aid: its amount for builders is set at 70% of 37 times the current unskilled worker’s daily wage, while for the professions of musicians-singers, actors, etc. at 70% of 25 times the applicable daily wage of an unskilled worker.
- Unemployment benefit for self-employed and self-employed insured persons: the monthly amount of the benefit is equal to the monthly unemployment benefit, which depends on the statutory minimum daily wage.
- The special assistance of DYPA, which currently amounts to 718 euros and concerns 18,000 people, single-parent families, victims of gender-based violence and violence of human trafficking, released from prison and dependents, which will increase to 764.6 euros.
- The business grant programs for student employment ATEI-ASPAITE (formerly SELETE), which are equal to 50% of 80% of the legal minimum wage of the unskilled worker.
- The remuneration for students who are absent from their work to participate in the written exams of the school they attend and equals for undergraduate students 30 times the legal minimum daily wage of an unskilled worker and for postgraduates 10 times this.
- Work experience programs, where beneficiaries are paid compensation equal to the minimum wage.
- Programs of a public interest nature, which pay net fees corresponding to the minimum statutory gross earnings of the unskilled worker, while non-salary costs are also covered.
- The new jobs programs are indirectly linked to the minimum wage, as the subsidy ranges from 50% to 80% of wage and non-wage costs.
It should be noted that 4-6 percentage points separate the GSEE proposal from the employers’ organizations, which are expected to move to increases of 4%-6.5%, with most organizations in favor of the process of restoring collective bargaining to partners.
It is recalled that, based on the proposals the new minimum wage is expected to range from 820 to 830 euros and, according to government calculations, four annual increases of €40-45 will be needed until 2027, starting in 2024, to meet the pre-election target. The commitment provides for the formation of the minimum from 780 euros to 950 euros at the end of the four years and the average salary to 1,500 euros, from the 1,176.5 euros it is today.

Three years
With the new increase in the minimum wage, the three-year terms are also automatically increased, as they correspond to 10% of the respective basic wage. The 10% increase per three years of seniority is used up to 30% for those with 3 three years (i.e. 9 years of seniority) and above.
The three years were suspended after 2012 and resumed from 1/1/2024.
In terms of benefits, the most basic is the unemployment benefit, which, with the scenario for a minimum wage of 820 euros, will rise to 503 euros, while with a salary of 830 euros the benefit will reach 509 euros from 479 euros which it is now .
The unemployment benefit is also given a 10% increase for each dependent member that the unemployed person has on his tax return. This means that with unemployment benefit at 509 euros and two protected members, an unemployed person will receive 610 euros instead of the 574 euros he receives today.
