On an adventure course at the reservoir
The Ottenstein reservoir was created in the 1950s and, at 4.5 square kilometers, is one of the largest reservoirs in Austria. For this reason, there are countless opportunities to let off steam along the reservoir. In addition to numerous hiking trails, many bathing areas have been created for swimming and sunbathing.
Directly near Peygarten there is also the opportunity to rent a boat and explore the reservoir. The anglers among you can also book a day ticket and fish in the specially marked areas – this is even possible in winter when the lake is frozen over. And if you like something more adventurous, you can abseil down the 69 meter high dam.
