According to a slew of rumors, Apple plans to unveil a new 13-inch MacBook Pro as early as next month.
Potential sign of new Mac models on the horizon, a trio of Macs appeared in EEC regulatory filings on February 14. It was also reported that Apple suppliers paid staff to skip the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday to keep production going and meet deadlines. We suspect it would be to prepare for the launch of the new Macbook Pro model.
Apple last refreshed the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro in November 2020 when the first M1 Macs were launched. It was released alongside the MacBook Air and Mac mini M1, and all three product lines are to be updated. They are an integral part of all those things Apple should have in store for us in 2022.
No major changes
A leaked report from February indicates that the new MacBook will only get no design change compared to the M1 version current and will not follow in the footsteps of the MacBook Pro (2021). That means no notch, no new chassis and a touch bar.
Apple expected to use M2 chip in 13-inch MacBook Pro
While the external styling will apparently remain the same, the internal components will be different, using the M2 chip instead of the M1 being the main upgrade. The M2 is considered an improvement over the M1, featuring the same number of CPU cores, but at higher clock speeds, as well as an increase in the number of GPU cores.
Too, the new MacBook Pro should be cheaper than the current MacBook Pro and is expected to fall into a similar price range as its M1 predecessor.
Good that the company has yet to confirm thisrumors indicate thatApple will hold its first event this year on March 8. During this upcoming spring event, the tech giant is expected to launch the next-gen iPhone SE with support for 5G connectivity.
