The 2023 Ballon d’or down in TV audiences

The audience for the 2023 Ballon d’or fell on L’Equipe, compared to the 2022 edition.

The 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony, which saw Lionel Messi win his eighth trophy, did not meet with the same success as the previous one in terms of television audiences. The evening, broadcast on the L’Équipe channel, was followed by 1.47 million viewers, or an audience share of 6.9%, according to The Parisian.

Less audience in front of the 2023 Ballon d’or but the 4th audience of the evening

A score down compared to the 2022 edition, it is true marked by a French victory for Karim Benzema, which was followed by 1.98 million viewers. The L’Equipe channel is nonetheless the fourth PAF channel in terms of prime time audiences and the first on TNT. It is M6 which takes the lead with its program “L’amour est dans le pré”, which 4.16 million viewers watched (19.5% audience share)

TF1 follows with “Everybody Standing” (2.36M and 12.3%) and France 3 with the film “La Finale” (1.57M and 7.7%). France 2 was the big loser, with its special evening on the French language, which was only followed by 997,000 viewers.
