During the early hours of this Friday, The Senate approved the creation of five new national universities, thus expanding the public educational offer at the higher level. These institutions are: Delta National Universitythe University of Ezeizathe Pilar Universitythe Mothers of Plaza de Mayo National Universityand the National University of Río Terceroin the province of Córdoba.
The universities of Delta, Pilar and Río Tercero were voted with few senators against. But the proposals that proposed nationalizing the universities of Ezeiza (which until now was provincial) and of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo (a higher training institute) were more resisted and added almost 20 negative votes each.
