On the central square of the regional capital, a solemn procession of troops of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka garrison took place in honor of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
A special feature of the event was the consolidated company of female military personnel of the administration of troops and forces in the North-East of Russia and subordinate units, which this year for the first time took part in the solemn procession on May 9.
Solemn march under the Banner of Victory and the State flag of the Russian Federation along the square named after V.I. Lenin passed 17 consolidated companies numbering more than 1,100 military personnel. Combined companies of units of the OKVS, the Border Guard Department of the FSB for the Eastern Arctic Region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs took part in the passage.
In addition, cadets of the military training center at KamchatSTU, members of the All-Russian military-patriotic social movement “Yunarmiya” and cadet classes of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky marched in the parade.
As part of the celebration of Victory Day, a column of military equipment passed through the square of the regional capital.
