Rise in car prices in the first week of 2022
The most popular models in the Russian car market have risen significantly since the beginning of 2022. The increase in prices affected domestic and foreign cars – from Lada Granta to Toyota RAV4. In some cases the rise in price turned out to be symbolic, other models have added very noticeably, and some have even changed the lists of available trim levels. At the same time, Lada corrected price lists for all models… The rise in price ranged from 11 thousand to 82 thousand rubles.
Mandatory inspection for private vehicles canceled
Inspection for personal cars transferred to a voluntary basis… The State Duma adopted amendments to the legislation in December 2021, and the document entered into force at the end of the year after being signed by the president. Now technical inspection as a mandatory procedure has been retained for several situations: when registering a vehicle older than 4 years old, when registering changes in the design of the car and for vehicles engaged in commercial transportation.

Traffic jams at gas stations and checkpoints due to protests in Kazakhstan
Protests in Kazakhstan and subsequent riots led to a shortage of gasoline and many kilometers of queues at the few operating gas stations. One of the reasons for the speeches was the increase in the price for a liter of liquefied gas by 2 times, up to 120 tenge (about 21 rubles). A few days later, clashes between protesters and the military and police began in Almaty and other cities of the republic. On the territory of the country, state regulation of prices for fuel and food was introduced for six months, but this did not stop the protests.
They complained about the shortage of gasoline in Alma-Ata, Taldykorgan and other cities of the country. At some point the drivers began to pump fuel from underground tanks at gas stations.
Rapid tests and other innovations of the traffic police for drivers
The traffic police inspectors in 2022 will have devices for instant identification of drunk drivers on the roads… They will reduce the time of inspections by police officers, eliminate their subjectivity and prevent conflicts. Tests will almost instantly show the presence of ethyl alcohol vapors in the exhaled air without specifying its volume. If the express test is positive, the driver will have to go through a traditional breathalyzer to determine the volume of alcohol in the body, and after that – either for a medical examination or behind the wheel.
In addition, by June 1, 2022, the legislative framework should be ready, thanks to which subjects may transfer part of the powers of the traffic police to consider cases on administrative offenses in the field of road traffic.
7-seater crossover from Sony
Sony presented a large concept crossover Vision-S 02… The second car, developed by the Japanese electronics manufacturer, was shown at the CES consumer electronics show in Las Vegas.
The 4.9-meter long crossover inherited the design from the Sony Vision-S 01 sedan, only with a cabin for seven people. It is assumed that the electric vehicle is capable of picking up a “hundred” from a standstill in less than 5 seconds, and its maximum speed is limited to 180 km per hour.
Penalty for a tubing tied to a car
Traffic police reminded drivers about the inadmissibility of towing a tubing by a car. This way of riding on “cheesecakes”, sledges and ice-floes is extremely dangerous. The traffic police in the Ryazan region explained that the motorist would be fined 1 thousand rubles. At the same time, for actions that lead to the death of a person, the driver may face criminal liability.
Mercedes-Benz showed the EQXX electric sedan
German car manufacturer presented the concept electric sedan EQXX… The company calls the novelty “the most spectacular car of the brand”. At the same time, the Germans do not plan to launch the car in series. However, many technologies and solutions demonstrated on the prototype will be embodied in Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles in the future.
The car is built on the MMA (Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture) platform and received one 204 horsepower electric motor. On a single charge, the Mercedes Vision EQXX will be able to travel more than 1000 kilometers – in comparison with the serial EQS model, this is 1.5-2.5 times more mileage without recharging.
Pass to Moscow for freight transport
On January 1, new rules for the entry into the capital of trucks weighing over 3.5 tons began to operate. A prerequisite for obtaining it is registration in the Unified Regional Navigation and Information System of the city of Moscow (RNIS). The pass is required for movement throughout Moscow, including the borders of the Moscow Ring Road. Moreover, by the end of 2022 there is a simplified procedure for obtaining a pass.
BMW introduced the crossover iX M60
BMW has shown the most powerful and fastest modification of the iX M60 electric crossover. The crossover is equipped with two electric motors (one each on the front and rear axles). It can accelerate from standstill to 100 km in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km / h – 50 km / h faster than the standard version of the iX XDrive50. Expected that the novelty will reach Russia in the second half of 2022.
