The announcement of the resignation of the Palestinian Prime Minister along with the government

Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Ashtia and his government have announced their resignation in view of the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza.

The Palestinian Prime Minister said that I offer the resignation of my government to President Mahmoud Abbas, Mohammad Ashtiyah said that he has decided to resign due to the increasing violence in the occupied West Bank and the war in Gaza.

Announcing his resignation, Mohammad Ashtia said that he felt that new governmental and political initiatives were needed to tackle the next phase and its challenges.

He added that his government was able to strike a balance between meeting the needs of its people and providing services such as infrastructure, and that he would continue to fight for a state on Palestinian land.

However, it is not yet clear whether President Mahmoud Abbas will accept the resignation of the prime minister immediately or wait until a new prime minister is appointed.

It should be noted that the resignation of the government in the West Bank comes at a time when many countries, including the United States, have called for a reformed Palestinian Authority that will take over the management of all Palestinian territories after the end of the war in Gaza.

It should be noted that the war in Gaza began on October 7 after the attack of Hamas on southern Israel, where according to Israeli data, about 1,160 Israelis were killed as a result of the attack by Hamas, most of whom were civilians.

On the other hand, according to the Ministry of Health of Gaza, at least 29,782 people have been martyred in Israel’s retaliatory operations in Gaza, most of whom are women and children.
