The Arkanoid game declined in battle-royale sauce

The French publisher Microids has just unveiled its new project: the revival of a Taito classic.

We announced it a few months ago. The French publisher Microids has signed a partnership with Taito to bring some of the publisher’s emblematic franchises up to date. Arkanoid will be the first of them to return to the spotlight. Microids unveiled this week a new installment in the saga, which is being developed by a small French studio and will be released in October 2022 on PC and consoles.

Arkanoid Eternal Battle will stand out from its elders with its new approach since it will include a 25-player battle royale mode. The concept will remain the same: destroy blocks to survive as long as possible.

The game developers promise us cross-play, four game modes (a classic mode, a revamped solo mode, local and online battle royale mode), online rankings and an ambitious soundtrack. Visually, however, Arkanoid Eternal Battle is not really a slap…
