the artist Doudou Béni sings for peace

Author of “Ya Pas Moyo Moyo in the army (sung in homage to the Guinean army)”, the Guinean musician artist, Mohamed Benny Camara (his stage name Doudou Béni) has just released a single for peace in Guinea. This single that he has just made available to the music-loving public of Guinea comes at a time when peace is being put to the test in the country because of the tense socio-political climate between the authorities of the Transition and the socio-political actors.

And, at a press conference yesterday, Friday August 19, 2022, Doudou Béni said he was inspired by the works accomplished by the president of the National Council of the Transition (CNT), Dansa Kourouma, reports Guineematin.com through one of his journalists .

According to Doudou Béni, this new single on peace stems from an observation that strikes are recurrent and contempt between rulers and ruled is noted. Thus, in this musical work, the artist advises mutual respect.

“Why are there strikes? Today, I ask the President of the Republic to listen to his people. When he listens to the population, he will be able to manage the country. And, I ask the population also to respect the president. Guineans do not respect their presidents. Presidents only respect respectful people. When there is no justice in a country, the president of this country will have little respect for justice,” said Doudou Béni.

In the media this Friday, Doudou Béni also attacked social and political actors, in particular the FNDC (National Front for the Defense of the Constitution) which often organizes demonstrations in Guinea.

“I ask the state to condemn people who take children out onto the streets. When there are problems on the Le Prince road, we must avoid saying that it is the Fulani. The Fulani are first and foremost Guineans. A real Fulani can’t hurt someone without crying, it’s the same for other ethnic groups. There have been times here when children from Sierra Leone and Liberia after the war found refuge with the Fulani. Today they understand the language; and, if we check in depth, it is these children who are demonstrating. The state must take what I say seriously. We have to tell each other the truth so that there is peace in the country. All Guinean politicians are opportunists… I will support all the presidents who come to power, because I want peace for my country,” insisted Doudou Béni.

In addition, this artist asked Guineans to maintain peace in the country to allow Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya to lead the Transition on time.

“I don’t think Doumbouya came to stay in power forever. He’s a very precise man, let’s respect his time so he can do his job and leave respectfully. But, when someone comes to power with the will to help his nation, if you fight him, he won’t leave you… What political leader do we have apart from Cellou and others? To have power in this country, you have to be known to the public for 10 or 15 years. We have to put an end to all this from now on,” said Doudou Béni.

Note that Doudou Béni has also promised to release a single very soon to praise the merits of the President of the Transition, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya.
