La Société des Amis du Pays Lochois célèbre son anniversaire

La Société des Amis du Pays Lochois (SAPL) a tenu sa réunion générale annuelle le samedi 8 février 2025, à la Maison des Associations de loches. Sous la présidence de Stéphane Blond, cette association créée en 1947 compte aujourd’hui plus de 300 membres. Elle rassemble des passionnés d’histoire locale, attirés par les richesses naturelles et monumentales de la région.

Quaranta ans de bulletins d’histoire locale

L’association organize régulièrement des conférences et des visites guidées sur des personnages illustres, des lieux marquants et des événements importants. “Nous proposons également des visites de monuments et de sites patrimoniaux en lien avec l’histoire de Loches. Comme l’année dernière, nous devrions organiser en 2025 six ou sept visites qui débuteront avec une conférence sur Richard Coeur de Lion, le 8 mars”, a déclaré le président.

Des excursions à Poitiers (Vienne) et Thouars (Deux-Sèvres) sont également prévues, ainsi que des visites de châteaux dans le sud de Touraine, comme ceux de Vou, les roches de Saint-Quentin-sur-Indrois et de Grillemont dans la Chapelle-Blanche-Saint-Martin.

Une adhésion plus abordable pour les jeunes

Lors de l’Assemblée Générale, chaque membre a reçu le Bulletin 2024 des Amis du Pays Lochois, qui détaille les rapports des conférences et des sorties de l’année. Publié pour la première fois en 1985, ce bulletin s’est imposé comme une véritable référence pour connaître l’histoire locale, de l’Antiquité à l’époque contemporaine. ” Notre association est en bonne santé.Notre équipe est stable et nous serions heureux d’accueillir d’autres passionnés d’histoire parmi nous,notamment les jeunes. Depuis 25 ans, le montant de nos cotisations n’a pas changé. Et nous proposons même un tarif réduit pour les moins de 26 ans”, a conclu Stéphane Blond.

Looking back, Looking Ahead

Archyde (A): começou a culturelles organisacion¹do ano, we celebrate 78 anos of SAPL. What are some of the most memorable moments and achievements from the past year?

stéphane (S): Well,A,we’re incredibly proud of our achievements last year. We successfully organised six guided visits to past sites and monuments, starting with a engaging conference on Richard Coeur de Lion. our members also enjoyed excursions to places like Poitiers, Thouars, and several beautiful châteaux in the south of Touraine.

The Power of Publications

A: SAPL’s annual bulletin has been a vital source of local history since 1985. Can you tell us more about this invaluable publication and its role in preserving Loches’ past?

S: Absolutely, A. Our bulletin,published annually,is a treasure trove of knowledge,covering Loches’ history from ancient times to the present day. It’s a fantastic resource for anyone interested in delving deep into our region’s past. We’re committed to ensuring it remains relevant and accessible to all.

engaging the Future

A: We’ve noticed that SAPL has implemented a reduced membership fee for young people. Can you elaborate on this initiative and how it aligns with SAPL’s vision for the future?

S: Indeed, A. We believe in fostering a love for history among the younger generations. By offering a reduced fee for those under 26, we hope to make our association more accessible and encouraging to them. We’re looking forward to welcoming new, young faces among our ranks and working together to preserve Loches’ rich heritage.

Thoughts for the Future

A: What are your hopes and plans for SAPL in the coming years? Any exciting projects or initiatives on the horizon?

S: A, we’re excited about the future. We’re considering exciting new guided visits, perhaps even extending our reach to other regions. We also hope to collaborate more with local schools to educate young minds about our shared history. Our ultimate goal is to keep Loches’ past alive and thriving for generations to come.
