The author’s first “pancake” did not catch on: the book instantly became a bestseller
“I came to work at school not to save the world, but to save myself.” – these words greet the reader on the first page of the autobiographical novel “Teacher”. And so, seemingly simply, with a light touch of irony and humor, the author begins to analyze existential problems that are by no means simple. But that’s not all! The history of the book will give you the opportunity to be at least briefly behind the scenes of the teacher’s work and to look at the literature otherwise.

After the hustle and bustle of the Vilnius Book Fair, where the debut of this book took place, K. Klim announced open registration for the planned book presentation tour on his blog. Therefore, the author intends to visit not only the big cities of Lithuania, but also smaller towns. During these visits, it will be possible to hear about the book “Teacher” directly “from the first hand”, and its author invites you to have a warm conversation and discuss various relevant topics during the meeting.
About the teacher – not only for teachers!
The book “Teacher” is a work of an unusual genre, which tells about the work of a pedagogue in one of the gymnasiums of the city of Vilnius. The author describes his work as the story of a (no longer) young man in search of himself, which he dedicates not only to educators, high school students, but also to everyone who wants to look at the true and unadorned reality of pedagogical work. The desire to change something, to break established stereotypes, the desire to stand out and not give in to the education system that suppresses big ambitions is familiar to those who seek not only the highest results in their professional activities, but also meaningful self-realization.
“In a consumer society, one must be able to choose what really develops and promotes the evolution of the personality, and what takes one step back. Unfortunately, many young people follow the success formulas that abound on the bookshelves of popular psychology. I saw the only way out of this sorry state of affairs was to give my students the tools to measure value. I had a burning desire to teach them how to look for gold nuggets among the trash,” says the teacher.
