5:44 am: Macron dominates in Brittany

The Brittany region gave the same trifecta as the whole country. Emmanuel Macron obtained 33%, four points more than in 2017: 32.21% in Finistère, 31% in Côtes-d’Armor, 32.68% in Morbihan and 34.50% in Ille- and-Vilaine. With nearly 20% of the vote, Marine Le Pen, candidate for the RN, made five points better than in 2017 (15.3%) and obtained her best scores in Côtes-d’Armor (21.8%) and Morbihan (22.01%).

In two departments, Finistère and Ille-et-Vilaine, it is Jean-Luc Mélenchon who comes in second place behind the outgoing president. In Finistère, the leader of rebellious France collects 21.5% ahead of Marine Le Pen (18.60%). In Ille-et-Vilaine, with a score of 22.2%, it does better than five years ago (19.70%) and is ahead of Marine Le Pen by five points (17%).

Rennes, led by the PS for more than 40 years, placed Jean-Luc Mélenchon well ahead with 36.31% of the vote, ahead of Emmanuel Macron (29.47%) and Yannick Jadot who is close to 10%. Marine Le Pen obtains 7.29%.
