Doha: Qatar FIFA World Cup won the award for the best tourism and sports event in the Arab countries. The award was announced by the Arab Union for Tourist Media. The award was announced at a tourism fair held in conjunction with the International Travel and Trade Show (ITB). The ITBT exhibition was held in Berlin, the German capital. The award was announced at the Tourism Media Awards ceremony held at the Jordan Pavilion.
The three-day ITBT ended on March 9. One hundred and fifty countries participated in ITBT. World tourist media representatives, tourism officials of Arab countries and others participated in the award ceremony. The Arab Tourism Media Awards also recognize the best tourism promotion, hotels and tourist destinations.
Thirty four lakh people participated in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. They will include about fourteen lakh fans. Sixty-four matches were held in eight stadiums for 28 days. Qatar’s hosting of the World Cup was highly praised.
