It all happened in the early hours of last Monday, when the authorities were informed of an explosion in a transformer, a power outage and the existence of a young man unconscious, on a high-voltage pole of DEDDIE, at the junction of Aiolou and Tritonos streets.
The scene was cordoned off and nine firefighters with two vehicles and a special arm carrier attempted to extricate him. His body was then delivered to an ambulance of the EKAV.
The first information wanted the 26-year-old to be Roma, who had climbed the pole in an attempt to carry out either cable theft or electricity theft. However, at noon on Saturday, news reached the journalistic staff that the deceased is Apostolos Fournatzopoulos, reports dytikesmaties.gr. So far, the circumstances under which he lost his life remain unknown and that is why the authorities are conducting an investigation and looking for answers as to how he ended up on the pole.
At the scene of the tragedy, a few meters from the house where he lived with his family, flowers and a message have been left. “Miss we love you forever! Good heaven.”
