Thiruvananthapuram: The bride and groom got ready on a scooter, got married and returned on a scooter. Karthik from Erode, Tamil Nadu and Reshma P Varghese from Mananthavady, Wayanad got married in a lockdown yesterday.

The ceremony was held at Vallakkadavu Karali Kalathuvilakam Sri Chamundeshwari Temple. The love affair started in 2016 when she was studying at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai.

After their studies, Karthik and Reshma run a take-away tea shop on Pulimoodu Ambuja Vilasam Road. Even close friends might not attend following the lockdown was announced. Nanthancode Circle Health Inspector S.S. Minu and his wife Reshmi came to help.

They brought sweets and breakfast to eat following the wedding. After the ceremony, the bride and groom left on a scooter.
