Brendan Gallagher never smiles after a setback. He kept the same mentality after that 6-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators, but you could sense an even greater rage.

Gallagher had a hard time against Tim Stützle. At the end of the second period, Nick Suzuki hit him behind the net of Anton Forsberg by leaving the knee.
After the shock, Stützle collapsed on the ice, writhing in pain. He was holding his left knee. The third overall pick in the 2020 draft, however, managed to get up a few seconds after the arrival of the Senators trainer.
He was on the ice from the next shift while Suzuki watched the scene from the bench.

“When I was 10, my coach had a rule. If you’re lying on the ice and a coach has to pick you up, that means you’re too injured to play. You had to miss at least the next three shifts,” Gallagher said.

There are children watching, we must serve as role models. If I was his teammate, I would tell him to be smarter,” added Gallagher.

Stützle scored his 15th goal of the season in the Senators win. But above all, it added another layer to the rivalry between the two teams.
In his first game since March 17, Gallagher didn’t look too rusty with a goal and an assist playing right wing with Ryan Poehling and Jesse Ylönen.

Not so long ago, we would never have believed in a 20-goal first season for Cole Caufield. It is now a high probability. The number 22 hit the target in a second game in a row by beating Anton Forsberg with a wrist shot on the power play. In his last 25 outings, Caufield has now scored 15 goals. A fairly good average under the leadership of Martin St-Louis. For those who have forgotten, he only had one goal after 30 games at the start of the season.
Tkachuk again
Brady Tkachuk wears the “C” for captain. At 22, he is already the soul of the Senators. For this visit to Montreal, Tkachuk remained the winger we know. Once again he had his nose in heavy traffic. He didn’t just bother the CH defenders. He finished the game with one goal and two assists. With his three points, he reached the plateau of 50 points (52) for the first time in his young career.
Unenviable record
The Canadiens gave up five or more goals in a single game for a 26e times this season to tie a team mark. Of the 26 times, the CH collected only once a point (0-25-1). That was in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Dec. 28. In 1983-1984, at a time when there were many more goals in the NHL, the Habs had also experienced this affront 26 times (0-24-2).
