One thing in advance: The fact that the EU’s new pollutant standards will no longer only apply to emissions that end up in the environment and people’s lungs from the exhaust is a long overdue step. The regulations now also include maximum limits for brake and tire wear. That’s good news. The bad news: The limits for exhaust gases from cars remain unchanged.
