Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has insisted that Ravi Bishnoi will be in the squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The legend said Bishnoi was better than Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal because of the young spinner’s batting and fielding skills and wanted him in the team.
Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi and Yuzvendra Chahal are the main contenders for the position of spinners. “Ravi Bishnoi himself should take the field. Because he is a better fielder and batsman than Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. He played a crucial role with the bat in Lucknow Supergiants’ win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2023,” Sunil Gavaskar told Star Sports.
Bishnoi has taken 34 wickets at an economy rate of 7.14 in 21 T20 matches for India. On the other hand, Kuldeep performed well against South Africa. Bishnoi and Yadav have been included in the squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
Irfan asked Pathan to choose between Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan. The former all-rounder cast his vote for the left-arm pacer.
