A state visit to Switzerland is currently taking place in the center of our capital, which has causedmajor embarrassment traffic this morning.

The traffic has also been practically at a standstill :

  • on the Small Belt from Brussels from the Annie Cordy Tunnel to the Gare du Midi
  • on the Small Belt from the Louise Tunnel to the Porte de Namur Tunnel to the Basilica of Koekelberg
  • around Quartier Royal and on the neighboring axes.

The traffic became much more fluid once more at midday.
The Swiss presidential couple will continue their visit this followingnoon which might once more cause some embarrassment at rush hour.

Therefore, it is strongly advised toavoid driving to circulate in Brussels and rather prefer public transport or cycling.
