The Center Pompidou supports the creation of a contemporary art museum in AlUla

Already known for hosting avant-garde artistic installations, the AlUla site, located in the heart of the desert in the north-west of Saudi Arabia, is going to have a new museum of contemporary art. The partnership signed on March 12 between the Royal Commission for Al Ula and the Centre Pompidoustipulates that the latter will participate in the project of creation and operation of a large museum dedicated to contemporary artists from the Arab world. The missions of the Parisian museum will range from the contribution of its scientific and technical expertise in staff training, particularly in conservation, collection management and mediation, including the organization of cultural programming and events.

The construction will join the other cultural buildings of this archaeological site still preserved under the name of “Perspective Galleries” and will see the light of day in 2027 or 2028.
