The CFF’s Romandie headquarters in the heart of a new district in Renens – rts.ch

The SBB inaugurated their new Romandie headquarters near Renens station on Thursday. These two buildings are part of a new district called “Parc du Simplon”, emerging from the ground in the area of the old warehouses.

The new district built south of the tracks in Renens (VD) brings together some 270 housing units, offices, shops, crafts and the new regional headquarters of CFF.

CFF Director General Vincent Ducrot, State Councilor Nuria Gorrite and Renens municipality Tinetta Maystre took part in the official inauguration. On this occasion, a tree was planted in front of the headquarters of the railway company, which brings together some 800 employees.

The new district was created in the sector of the former CFF warehouses, between the gymnasium and Renens station. An EMS, a crèche and a third CFF building, which will house the West Operations Center, will further complete the landscape of the district, indicates the former federal government in a press release.

Other real estate projects in progress

Other real estate projects are underway in Renens. The SBB are developing the “Quai Ouest” district on either side of the station, with two residential buildings, offices, shops as well as a car park and a 300-space bicycle station.

The first building, which is directly connected to the Rayon vert (walkway over the tracks) has been completed since the end of 2020. Construction work on the second building will begin in the fall. Renovation work on the station building will end in August, the CFF said.
