The Cointe tunnel, in Liège, reopened to traffic on Sunday afternoon around 4.30 p.m., after being closed for nearly two months for modernization and upgrading works.
The reopening was scheduled for Monday morning, but the operation was finalized more quickly than expected.
And like “in terms of mobility, every hour counts“, the tunnel was directly returned to users, said the Sofico spokesperson.
The other part of the tunnel, towards Brussels, will undergo a similar treatment in the summer of 2024.
