The comic book festival hovers in the bubble of success – Évreux

Perfect weather, accessible authors with varied horizons, an audience at the rendezvous, an organization without health constraints… everything came together under the happiest auspices for this 23rd edition of the festival to be a great success.

Smiles on the lips and satisfaction of the accomplished duty with the sixty authors present, Raphaël Tanguy, organizer, does not hide his joy at the success of this weekend dedicated to the 9th Art. For this new edition, foreign authors have made a comeback. Italians, Belgians, Swiss, Bosnians came to swell the ranks of their French counterparts. Faced with the success of the Manga towards the adolescent public, 5 French Mangaka were present for signings.

The rise in prices in hotels, restaurants and transport not helping, Raphaël Tanguy launched during the summer a participative kitty contributing to the financing of the costs incurred by the arrival of the authors. Being able to count on the support of the faithful of the festival, this one made it possible to collect 13,000 euros. “In addition to all these increases, we have suffered a drop in funding. I would like to thank the volunteers who offered us their spontaneous help for the smooth running of the festival”.

Many activities were scheduled like a concert BDesigned by the rock band from Neubourg and illustrated by Juan-Maria Cordoba, vocaloids proposed by Cosplayers, mascots of the Smurfs, Asterix & Obelix, Yoda & Chewbacca posed for the public and the magician Mister F entertained the festival-goers of its towers. For some authors, the queue stretched for a long time, like Philippe Aymond present with his colorist, Didier Ray and the scriptwriter Laurent-Frédéric Bollé, all three of whom came to sign the 3rd volume of Bruno Brazil premiered. Varou editions have received good attendance thanks to the publication of the 5th volume of Nono and Moumoune.

In line with Alessio Lapo, Dominique, this Parisian fan of historical comics and festivals for 20 years. One or two festivals per month for this fan of the small bubble, not hesitating to travel miles to meet his favorite authors. With more than 1000 comics to his credit, he selects the authors he wants to meet beforehand. “I like talking with them, talking about little anecdotes that come out of my reading. I am ecstatic every time with my dedications and my new albums”.
