By a series of decrees read on Saturday evening on Senegalese television RTS, the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic announced the new members of the government, composed on the proposal of Amadou Ba, appointed Prime Minister on Saturday morning.

The new government team is made up of 38 ministers, including 8 women.

16 new entrants, some of whom are returning, such as Ismaila Madior Fall, Aly Ngouille Ndiaye and Abdoukarim Fofana have been registered. 15 ministers have also kept the same portfolio that they managed in the outgoing government.

“There have been permutations and renewals as well as new entrants,” commented the new Prime Minister speaking following the announcement of the list.

“The novelty is that there are ministers next to other ministers. This reflects the new orientations of the President of the Republic to achieve the objectives in priority sectors”, continued Ba.

He announced that handovers will start on Monday to allow the new team to begin its work as soon as possible.
