The Zieleni Board is preparing to announce a tender for construction works. Additional funds are needed to implement the full range of investments. The City Council will decide on their granting. of Warsaw.

In 2025, just above the Southern Bypass of Warsaw, a linear park will be built over a length of almost 2 km. And there is plenty of vegetation – about a thousand trees, over 100,000 shrubs, vines, perennials and ornamental grasses. There will be a new layout of sidewalks and walking paths – the main element will be a promenade running the entire length of the park. Residents will also benefit from from the recreation area and a wooden terrace, which is planned over the rain garden. The total area of the new park will be approximately 10 ha.
– We are located just above the ring road tunnel. Tens of thousands of cars pass through it every day. Soon, within the next three years, a true green refuge will appear in the same place – said Magdalena Młochowska, coordinator for green Warsaw. – We have divided the investment into 6 sections, so that each of them can be handed over to the residents as soon as possible. We want to announce a tender in this quarter, so that the first field works will take place this year. But we need the support of city councilors for this. Warsaw, she added.
The entire investment will be financed from municipal funds. The budget for construction and gardening works currently amounts to PLN 11 million. Another PLN 33 million is needed to carry them out in full. The Council of the Capital City of Warsaw will decide on whether the funds will be granted at the next session. of Warsaw.
– A few years ago, in cooperation with district councilors and the district management, on my initiative, the City Council Warsaw adopted an amendment to the budget and allocated funds for this investment. We know what financial situation we are in today and how high the prices are. Today, this amount is no longer sufficient. Therefore, I hope that the Council will unanimously vote in favor of the amendment at the next session – said Ewa Janczar, chairwoman of the Spatial Order Committee of the City Council. of Warsaw.
When we started this project in 2016, I wasn’t 100% sure if we would be able to reach this stage. Meanwhile, a tender is to be announced in this quarter and work on the first two sections of the investment is to begin. In the spring of 2024, works will be completed on the section from al. KEN to ul. Stryjeńskich, in the spring of 2025 the section from al. KEN to ul. Rosoła, and by the end of 2025 sections between ul. Rosoła and the escarpment and from ul. Pilecki to ul. Stryjeński – said Robert Kempa, mayor of the Ursynów district. – We will talk about detailed solutions and specific dates during the meeting with designers, which will take place in March at the Ursynów District Office. Already today, on behalf of the Zieleni Board and the district, I cordially invite the residents to them – he added.
