Prince Harry and King Charles III are reportedly still in touch, even though their relationship has been strained. This was stated by writer Omid Scobie in the cover story of People magazine.
“There is still warmth between Harry and Charles,” said Scobie as reported on Sunday (19/11/2023).
Even though the relationship between Harry and his brother, Prince William, is reportedly getting worse, Harry’s relationship with Charles remains intact. The split between the brothers allegedly occurred after the documentary Harry & Meghan and Harry’s memoir were released several months after Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
“The striking difference between Charles and William in their relationship with Harry is that there is still warmth between Harry and Charles,” said Scobie.
“For Harry, there was some reluctance to accept that this was his father.”
“He would rather have that than not communicate completely. Because of that, when they talked, often (Harry) reached out, and I was surprised to learn that Meghan Markle had some kind of correspondence with Charles, sending photos of his children (Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet), although not directly to him,” he added.
Scobie concluded that there was still a will to improve relations between Harry and Charles.
Despite open lines of communication, it appears Harry was not invited to his father’s 75th birthday party this week. Harry and Meghan called Charles to wish him a happy birthday, Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
“In response to headlines in the British media, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to Her Majesty’s upcoming birthday,” said a statement from a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
