Buenos Aires: Coach Lionel Scaloni, who led Argentina to 2022 World Cup victory, has extended his contract until 2026. This was announced by the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

The decision was made following a meeting with AFA president Claudio Tapia in Paris on Monday, according to a statement issued by the association. With this, Scaloni will coach the Argentina team in the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

Scaloni was also selected as the best coach in the FIFA award held following Argentina’s World Cup victory.
