In its weekly report on the pandemic, the World Health Organization said that there were about 3.8 million new infections and more than 15,000 deaths last week, down 17 percent and 3 percent during the week, respectively.
But these numbers are believed to be much less than the true outcome of “Covid 19”, while more and more countries are increasingly ignoring the expanded examination and follow-up.
But the organization indicated that the number of cases increased by about a third in Africa, and by 13 percent in the Americas.
There is also a jump of about 70 percent in deaths recorded in India, although it was attributed to the delay in reporting, not to a new outbreak of the disease.
And last week, the authorities in South Africa said that they had noticed an increase in the number of “Covid 19” cases, and attributed it to the “PA4” mutant of the “Omicron” strain, but made it clear that it was too early to say whether this was the result of a new wave of the disease.
Although the “PA4” version appears to be more widespread and contagious than “Omicron” itself, the World Health Organization has said that there is no evidence yet that it will lead to a significant increase in the number of hospitalizations or deaths.
