The court acquitted the father of a “violent Jazan” woman because there was no evidence to prove his guilt

“Previously” learned that the Criminal Court in Ohud Al-Masarha governorate issued an “appealable” ruling acquitting the child’s father, “Ibtihaj”, known in the media for the “violent Jazan” case, which at the time topped all social media sites, and the father was arrested at the time under the direction of the Public Prosecutor.

The verdict came after several sessions during the past months, whereby the accused was not convicted for lack of evidence to incriminate him.

The young woman, Ibtihaj, “Violent Jazan,” revealed the details of an incident of her abuse by her father, who witnessed physical and verbal abuse. The girl, Ibtihaj, said during her intervention on the “Ya Hala” program on the “Rotana Khalijia” channel at the time: that her father started abusing her at the age of eight. Noting that she was always trying to tell her mother what was happening.

She said at the time: that her father’s strikes were always focused on the head area to hide evidence, as he used to do on a daily basis, and in front of all her family and grandmother, stressing that no one was interfering to save her.

An official source in the Public Prosecution had stated that the Public Prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for a person, after there was sufficient evidence that he had committed the crime of abusing his daughter in the city of Jizan.

This action comes after the Family Violence Reporting Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development received a report that a girl had been abused by her father, explaining that the Public Prosecution would demand the imposition of severe legal penalties against him.

The source stressed that the Public Prosecution – and the criminal investigation authorities in the Kingdom participate with it – follow up on everything that would prejudice human rights, and protect it from all forms of violence or abuse.

He warned against using social media as a means of defamation, adding that all criminal investigation agencies – including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development – have special platforms to report such crimes.
