Released on Wednesday, the latest weekly epidemiological bulletin from the Country’s Covid-19 Platform already shows a “beginning of decrease in the overall incidence as well as the positivity rate” of the epidemic which has moderately affected the fenua for nearly two months. The number of new total confirmed cases decreased by -15% last week. The majority of cases are still declared in the Windward Islands, even if all the archipelagos are concerned. The weekly incidence rate rose to 212 per 100,000 inhabitants for the whole of Polynesia and to 252 per 100,000 inhabitants on the island of Tahiti alone. A rate that always remains “probably undervalued”, but still “the downward trend seems to be confirmed”, advance the bulletin. The figures for hospitalizations are also very optimistic.
