It sounds like a fairy tale but the story is very real. At the Wallonie Picarde hospital center in Tournai, a former maintenance worker has become a doctor! At 37, Karim Ounas is an anesthesiologist-resuscitator. Every day, he is at the bedside of patients strongly affected by the Covid. A position he never thought he would hold when he left school at the age of 16. But since then, Karim Ounas has rolled up his sleeves. He resumed his studies to become in turn: stretcher bearer, caregiver, nurse and finally doctor.
Between courage, self-sacrifice and sense of duty, listen to the inspiring journey of this CHwapi doctor in Tournai. A report produced in collaboration with our colleagues from France 3.
