id Software CEO and Executive Producer Marty Stratton at the opening of QuakeCon 2022 let slipwhat the famed studio is currently doing.
Recall that the last full-scale independent release of id Software remains a shooter DOOM Eternalreleased in March 2020 and received on its first anniversary two story DLCs.
According to Stretton, the id Software team is currently hard at work on the studio’s next major game, but is not ready to share any details at this stage.
October 2021 reportedthat id Software is looking for employees for a new game in “the cult series of first-person shooters”which combines the genres of science fiction and fantasy.
It is assumed that we are talking regarding Quake. The last numbered release of the franchise – Quake 4 – dates back to 2005, and the last release – just yesterday: August 18 from early access got out Quake Champions.
