Again and once more, when I listen to Herbert Kickl on TV, I experience this “How does he talk” moment. “How” is the keyword here, not “what”. What Kickl says is hardly worth paying attention to. The content of his speeches is always mindless, often wrong (FPÖ, party of the common man, hö, hö), and with a few expected outliers downwards, into the deliberately provocative and primitive. As a result, Kickl has earned the reputation of an exceptional rhetorician in Austria and has had a beautiful and financially profitable career with the FPÖ.
