The crisis of foreign rule threatens the Egyptian Cup final

The crises imposed themselves on the file of the upcoming match between Al-Ahly and its counterpart, Pyramids, in the Egyptian Football Cup final for the 2022 edition, a few days before the confrontation.

The foreign arbitration staff caused a major crisis between the Pyramids Club on the one hand, and the Football Association headed by Jamal Allam on the other hand, following the latter’s refusal to appoint a foreign arbitration staff due to lack of time, after Pyramids requested the use of foreign arbitration a week before the date of the meeting.

On the other hand, Pyramids officials insisted on appointing a foreign arbitration team for the confrontation in order to create equal opportunities, as claimed by its officials, hoping to win the title of the Egyptian Cup champion at the expense of Al-Ahly in the final.

The reaction on the part of the Pyramids club management came against the backdrop of refusing to appoint a foreign arbitration staff in issuing a brief statement from the latter on Thursday evening, represented in announcing the withdrawal of its investments owned by Emirati businessman Salem Al Shamsi in Egypt and stopping it in the Pyramids Club under allegations of lack of parity.

Pyramids did not issue an explicit position regarding whether or not it will play its upcoming final match against Al-Ahly in the coming period, amid complete ambiguity that dominated the situation.

Al-Ahly will meet Pyramids in the Egyptian Cup final for the 2022 edition, on the tenth of this month.
