Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavsky spoke about the situation with the admission of Russian hockey players to NHL matches in Prague.

“The position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the issuance of visas to Russian hockey players San Jose Sharks and Nashville Predators for the start of the NHL season in Prague does not change. They do not need to receive Schengen visas. If they already have valid visas, they should be allowed in, but ongoing negotiations could change the situation, ”Lipavsky quotes Eurozpravy.cz.

On October 7 and 8 the teams are to meet in Prague. Earlier, the Czech Foreign Ministry reported that they did not intend to let Russian hockey players into the country. In total, eight Russians can miss this match – Yaroslav Askarov, Yakov Trenin, Yegor Afanasiev, Artemy Knyazev, Alexander Barabanov, Danil Gushchin, Timur Ibragimov and Evgeny Svechnikov.
