The pulmonary care expert and one of the three Venezuelan doctors who are part of the Top Doctors 2023 list, Sadia Benzaquen, supported the ban published in the Official Gazette on the use, sale and manufacture of electronic cigarettes in the country, which “the Society of Pulmonology does not approve the use of electronic cigarettes, nor the use of vapers to quit smoking”.

He explained that although the main idea behind the creation of vapers was for smokers to stop smoking, high concentrations of nicotine are used and essences can even be mixed with illicit drugs, increasing addiction in consumers.

In an interview for Circuito Onda, he assured that consumers are mostly adolescents and people between 18 and 25 years of age and consumption has increased “like fashion.”
