The dangers of smoking immediately after breaking the fast in Ramadan… shocking!!

A professor of cardiology warned that smoking immediately after breaking the fast during Ramadan increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Head of the Department of Cardiology at the Giresun University College of Medicine in Turkey, Professor Qaghan Gulan, said that people who smoke cigarettes immediately after breaking the fast in Ramadan experience tremors in the body, especially tremors in the legs and feet, in addition to dizziness.

He stressed that smoking a cigarette after a long break stimulates all defense mechanisms in the body, which does not happen in the case of smoking cigarettes for shorter periods.

He added that smoking in Ramadan causes more damage to the walls of blood vessels than smoking during the rest of the year.

He said that there are studies indicating an increase in heart-related deaths during the month of Ramadan, pointing out that smoking accelerates the development of cardiovascular diseases and can cause sudden death.
